Abstract: The article presents a study which investigated the trigger factor for group A streptococcal M1T1 invasive disease. The characterization and M1T1 5448 and cysteine protease SpeB is discussed. The progression of the virulence of the wild-type strain in humanized plasminogen transgenic mice is examined. A description of SpeB activity of 5448 in vivo isolates is provided.
