Abstract

The article explores the biological schism of evolution having all organisms sharing a common ancestry and at the same time every living thing belonging to two mutually exclusive groups, prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It discusses evidence for the belief that organelles were once free-living organisms. It discusses the symbiosis theory and the demand for experiments.
