The article discusses the author's experience in detecting artefacts in a rape field. On his expedition over the rape field, the author was able to recover a tinned rowel spur that dates back from circa 1700, complete with its two terminal attachments that have been tinned. He also recovered a couple of halfpennies and a 19th century bag seal for Peruvian guano.
