Who submits to and publishes in this journal? A peer‐review study of 772 manuscripts 2000–2004.

The article presents a peer-review study on manuscripts submitted and published within the journal between the year 2000-2004. The purpose of this study is to know whether the outcome differs by geographical and disciplinary origin and whether there is a gender bias in the peer-review process. The materials used were original manuscripts submitted which have been classified by characteristics of authors and reviewers as well as by topic and methodology for accepted and rejected papers.
