Abstract

This article discusses the importance of promoting international understanding in young people between the age of sixteen and twenty. It is essential that young people understand and accept the needs, aspirations, rights and responsibilities that are common all over the world. The article cites the example of German dictator Adolf Hitler, who used education to influence the minds of young men and women for supporting a policy for extreme nationalism. A major cause of worry is the poisoning of minds of young people through lessons in history, television, and hatred and cynicism of older generations. Many people believe that a realization of common humanity can be achieved through experience and not through organized holiday party travel. Activities like international work camps can help in advancing international understanding among young people.
