The author examines the indignation of several European countries about the negative implications of the war on terrorism being led by the U.S. The opposition of some European countries to the alleged transportation of suspected terrorists by the Central Intelligence Agency to countries where they were tortured is cited. The seriousness of Europe about opposing torture is examined.
