Abstract

The article cites a study on a systematic review design which aims to determine the accuracy of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) criteria for the early diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in patient suspected with the disease. The review found out that 29 studies produced higher estimated diagnostic odds ratio than did cohort studies, and 15 studies produced higher estimates of specificity and lower estimates of sensitivity. The results are believed to have implications for the use of MRI.
