Abstract
- The article talks about the courts in the U.S. which have been called on repeatedly to determine whether school districts are liable for injuries resulting from the negligence of their officers, agents, or employees. In all states in the U.S. except for New York, the common law rule states that school districts or municipalities are not liable for the injuries sustained by pupils while on school premises. However, a school district may sue and be sued by a providing statute.
