Abstract

The article examines the importance of archival resources in linking, searching and learning about the general history of historically Black colleges and universities in the United States. Despite setbacks and challenges, Black colleges and universities have continued to thrive through government support and philanthropic efforts. The renewed appreciation of historically Black colleges and universities as both a traditional and transformative educational experience for African Americans is taking place.
