Abstract
- This article discusses various issues related to the educational facilities available for the training of teachers of handicapped children in the United States. With the recognition of the needs of the handicapped children, insistence began to be exerted on the training of teachers who are efficient enough to cope with the special problems of the group. Yet, there is a dearth of teachers for exceptional children. But, despite of all odds including scattered and scanty teacher-training facilities the special-education movement has now come to be an integral part of the modern educational program.
