Abstract

The article contends on the idea towards Africa-centered view of the life and history of black Americans. The Africa-centered view was a major problem on the part of the African scholars. Hence, they were making ways on how to correct the wrong concept. This concept had led Molefi Kete Asante, the professor and head of African American studies at Temple University, to advocate "Afrocentricity," the understanding of the black experience as an extension of African history and culture.
