Abstract

The article discusses the developments in science after the apartheid period in South Africa. The scientists in the country are taking initiatives to harness the potential of science and technology hidden in the citizens of the country. They are trying hard to put conditions in place to overcome the racially dominated legacy of the past. They are also encouraging to give more fund to the country's researchers to work with colleagues abroad. To achieve the maximum result the Department of Science and Technology is negotiating bilateral agreements with foreign partners and the National Research Foundation has taken the responsibility to implement them.
