Abstract
- The article presents part of a study on children's responses to questions commonly encountered in science curriculums. This study aims to find out if the popularization of science has affected children's development of casual reasoning in science. A large sample of children in grades 3 to 8 were presented with 11 demonstrations from the science area and they were ask to explain the demonstrations in writing. Four categories emerged from the writings, they are phenomenistic, mechanical, logical and dynamic.
