Abstract

The article presents an analysis on the effects of low level ionizing radiation exposure to the population. The analyses seek to clarify several matters such as the environmental and biological risks of a certain development, a comparison of the risks with the benefits to be gained, a feasibility on the cost of reducing environmental and biological risks, and the net benefit of a certain development compared to alternative options. It also presents the four ways in estimating the genetic risks of radiation to the population.
