Abstract

The article shares a physicist's views concerning impact of technology on warfare advancement. During his years as a graduate student at the Radiation Laboratory of the University of California in Berkeley, California, the war in Europe had just broke out. Like most of the students, he believe that the war was evil, and that it would serve only to enrich the munition makers. He agreed that whatever might happen, however justified the cause against Germany's Adolf Hitler might seem, the true course would be that of pacifism. His decision to participate in a nuclear research and that he would be working on a basic source of energy that would become beneficial to everyone.
