Abstract
- The article reports on the need for tools in measuring the influence of higher education on economic growth, which was discussed at the annual meeting of the American Economics Association in the U.S. According to Richard Nelson, a professor of economics at Yale University, because of the lack of attention to education's role in the economy, economists had no way of analyzing issues about economic growth. Professors Robert Haveman and Barbara Wolfe mentioned other economic impacts of education besides increased earnings.
