Abstract
- The article discusses the research paper about chemotherapeutic advances, presented at the November 1943 issue meeting of the New Jersey Science Teachers' Association. The author chronicles several medical advances between 1880 and 1990 including Louis Pasteur's discovery of the microbial nature of contagious disease and the classifications of animal parasites, namely protozoa, bacteria and fungi and ultramicroscopic viruses. He points out the suggestion of Alexander Fleming that penicillin may be an effective antiseptic for application to areas infected with penicillin-sensitive microbes.
