Abstract

The article presents an abstract of the paper "Trends of Science Revision in the Schools of the Aikin Experiment." The paper discusses the experiments conducted by the Aikin Commission on the thirty schools. The commission noted that the science departments in most schools are less active in experimentation than other departments. Science revision trends are also not followed in most of the schools. They found very few science teachers saying that they had achieved perfection in their experimental work. Many schools are not willing to make changes in their educational curriculum. The same educational materials are available and used again and again. Educational trends adopted in college courses does not give importance to specialization until in the latter years of the educational course. It shows that specialization is decidedly out of place in high-school curriculum.
