Abstract

The article reports that the topic about Chinese economic growth has become talk about growing disparities between the booming coastal, urban regions and the lack of progress in upcountry rural areas. There is a speculation Premier Wen Jiabao will make the rural issues the most important part of his presentation at the March 206 annual meeting of China's sham parliament, the National People's Congress. There have been public protests mostly in rural areas. Basic to the rural economy is the refusal of the Communists to deal with the problem of land tenure.
