Abstract

The article focuses on the scientific revolution, based from the public lectures given at the University of Chicago in the spring of 1963. It is stated that the scientific revolution has made wars irrational and deprived diplomacy of its most important tool, which is plausible war threats, culminating in the discovery of nuclear bombs and ocean-spanning missiles. Thus, every uprising, every regime change anywhere in the world will be naively appraised as addition to, as long as the deadlocked power contest between the Soviet Union and the United States continues. However, it is also stated that this should not be the basis that the scientific revolution has imposed an abrupt end to traditional history of mankind.
