Abstract

The article comments on the article of Pierre M. Gallois about the legitimate argumentation which points that the U.S. seeks to reduce the areas of Western Europe. According to the author, Gallois directly points that modern weapons have outmoded the doctrine of collective security as the foundation of the non-communist world. He also notes that freedom and growth of Europe were important to the U.S. to merit the overseas deployment of the American army and for European economic and military assistance. He adds that Gallois fails to acknowledge that the changes were primarily logical responses to technological developments.
