Abstract

The article provides information on the characteristics of several species of Telopea, a flowering plant which is commonly known as waratah. T. speciosissima typically forms a shrub to 3 meters high with flowers about 2.5 centimeter long. T. mongaensis, or the Braidwood waratah, can be easily cultivated on a well-drained site. The Gippsland waratah or T. oreades is considered the hardy species that will withstand frosts to at least about -12 degree Celsius.
