Abstract

The article examines a decline in the population of the U.S. in 1930s. This downward trend of population affected industrialized communities. The causes of this trend are indicated. The benefits of this decline to the economy, particularly to the unemployment rate, are also stated. Moreover, this article offers a number of recommendations for addressing the trend.
