Abstract

The article offers news briefs with educational topics. The "Journal of Neurosurgery" has reported a case of a man, who was using methamphetamine and suffering from mental-health problems, with a dozen nails found in his head as a result of an unsuccessful suicide attempt. Masaaki Hiramatsu, a Japanese astronomer, has invented an astronomical toilet paper depicting the birth, life and death of a star in an effort to popularize the study of stars, with a sale of more than 13,000 rolls at $2.25 apiece. The student marijuana festival, which has been promoted as a rally to support the reform of marijuana laws in Minnesota, has been resisted by administrators at Macalester College citing their opposition to illegal activity.
