Abstract
- The article focuses on the decision of the members of the Milwaukee Civil Disaster Relief Committee to change the organization's name. The move was considered after the members have reached a conclusion that sudden atomic warfare is possible. They have reflected on the types of disaster that will strike in the city to form a pattern of operation and examined their needs from the point of view of self-help. The principles of the organization to address civil defense and disaster relief are offered.
