Abstract

The article announces that thirty percent of Random House Inc.'s uncoated paper, which is used to print majority of U.S. titles, will came from recycled fibers by 2010. By conducting this transition in small steps, ten percent of the company's paper purchases will be from recycled paper fiber by 2007, fifteen percent by 2008, and twenty percent of its new and backlist books will originate from recycled paper fibers by 2009. With 110,000 tons of paper in uncoated paper stock, officials of the company believe that the newly introduced paper initiative will be a multi-million dollar investment.
