Abstract
- The article reports on the planned construction of the Daya Bay petrochemicals complex in Huizhou, Guangdong, China. CNOOC Ltd. and Shell Petrochemicals Co. are in talks with up to seven potential investors at the joint venture. Shell, meanwhile, said it remains in discussions with CNOOC regarding a possible stake in the 12 million tonne/year refinery that is planned for the site. The proposed complex is expected to produce 800,000 tonne/year of ethylene and propylene and 2.3 million tonne/year of products.
