Abstract: The article looks at the competition between runners of Team Spyder and cyclists of Team Nike for the Primal Quest Expedition Adventure Race in the U.S. The showdown between the two teams begins June 25, 2006 when they and other teams will cover miles in various states. To prepare for battle, in addition to their usual running and cross-training workouts, Team Spyder is spending more time on their bikes. Curiously, competing teams often share equipment, food, and navigation expertise en route.
