The article presents a reply to Dan Usher's comment regarding the model to physical public goods in political equilibrium in the U.S. The author discusses the use of the word overprovision when discussing the level of public transfers to the poor in political equilibrium. The example in the Appendix of an inefficiently low level of national defense in political equilibrium was to allow a discussion of the level of private provision.
