Building sustainable recycling programs.

The article reports on the key mechanisms and strategies that can be used in building more sustainable recycling programs in Pennsylvania. A guide for building a financially sustainable recycling programs was developed wherein they held workshops held across Pennsylvania to provide training to successfully implement the strategies covered in the guide. The strategies includes the sufficient and reliable funding, tracking of program costs and revenues, public understanding, awareness and support and others. These strategies aimed to improved the sustainability of recycling programs through reducing costs and increasing revenues.
