Abstract

The article presents a study on the analysis of polyacrylate (PA)-coated cotton fabric. Coating is a process wherein a film-formed polymer is applied to the surface of the fabric to produce different characteristics on the face and back of the fabric. Coating improves the appearance of the fabric and endows additional properties like water repellence. Aside from PA, polyvinyl chloride and polyvinyl acetate are also used as coating agents. Physical and chemical properties of textile goods cannot be assessed according to common method and Textiles Quantitative chemical analysis is only suitable to inspect uncoated binary mixtures.
