Abstract
- The article presents a study which aims to ascertain what personal and professional characteristics are related to elementary attitudes toward science and the scientific institution. The Schwirian Science Support Scale was administered to elementary teachers and analysis of variance was used to analyze the data. Personal characteristics were examined including age and religious preference while professional characteristics include the highest academic degree held, semester hours of college science, type of undergraduate institution attended, and others. There was found a positive association between number of hours in science and positive science attitudes.
