Abstract

The article reports on the Lilienthal report and the Baruch proposals, which led to the debate regarding atomic energy control. The two papers succeeded in gathering support from a broad spectrum of American opinion. the opponents and proponents of world government dwelt on each other to proclaim their support of the proposals. Both the Lilienthal report and the Baruch proposals believed that an effective inspection is possible if the world atomic energy control authority were able to intervene throughout the whole range of human activity.
