Abstract

The article examines the etiology and natural history of primary lung cancer patients in the U.S. Lung cancer has been a major medical and public health problem with tobacco smoking being recognized as the primary cause for more than one half of a century. The information on the clinical features of the most recent patients will provide important clues for both improved patient management and translational research of causes, progression, prevention, and treatment of lung cancer.
