The article focuses on the move of the author from teaching to consulting. To get ready for the interview for her new job, the author scoured around for information about consulting. The author found out that some consultants travel extensively. When the author asked another friend about his consulting job, he said that he loved the work and traveled three to four weeks every month. That's the entire month, in the author's opinion. The author has a small son at home and a husband who already thinks that she works late too frequently. So taking a new job that involved traveling Monday through Thursday practically every week, was not going to work.
