Abstract

The article provides an overview of the fiscal condition of Ohio. The decline in the state's bond issuance in 2005 is attributed to fewer refundings. Ohio allocated 5 percent of its pension funds toward retiree health care but it was reduced in 2004 to ensure the stability of the pension system. Meanwhile, the state adopted the Health Care Preservation Plan to help reduce the costs of medical care.
