Moonlighting.

This article presents the author's experience for an additional job to finance an overseas trip. Last spring, when the organizers of an international conference in Great Britain accepted the author's proposal to present a workshop, he was ecstatic. But his enthusiasm quickly dampened when he learned that his university would contribute only $1,000 toward the trip's cost. The $1,000 would barely cover the registration fee. With only a few months to come up with the money, the author decided to seek a second job. His provost approved that plan, with the stipulation that the job not interfere with his primary administrative work.
