A national emission inventory of Participate Matter.

The article presents the results of a study on national emissions of particulate matter (PM) in Austria. Emissions from PM have been assessed for different size classes. It has been recommended that a complete assessment of the actual emissions from non-exhaust road traffic requires a better theoretical understanding of the process. For all sources, emissions of smaller size fractions were calculated as fractions of the total suspended particles emissions. It is suggested that a better understanding of the process leading to the emissions is needed.
