Abstract: The article discusses the results of a study on non-methane volatile organic compounds (NMVOC) emission from solvent use in Germany. The production of solvent-containing products and its applications were viewed as the main emission sources of NMVOC. A product based approach has been applied for the calculation of the emissions from the usage of solvents. It was estimated that the total amount of emissions from such use is approximately 863 kilotons in the year 2000.
