Abstract

The article discusses the problems created by the World War in the cotton industry in Great Britain. Since the first World War, the industry in the country suffered a prolonged curtailment in production and export markets. Several attempts were made by economists and textile experts to find some ways and methods to improve the position of the industry. Some of these proposals were special financial arrangement, modernization of the plants and equipment or utilization of cheaper raw materials to attain a greater competitive power in the export markets.
