38-A NEW METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE VARIANCE-LENGTH CURVE OF YARNS AND SLIVERS.

A method is described for the determination of a large number of points on the variance-length curve with a high degree of accuracy and in a reasonably short period of time. A capacitance-type irregularity tester is employed, together with data-logging equipment for transferring details of strand linear density onto punched paper tape.
