Abstract
- The article presents a reprint of the article "Performance-Based Teacher Education: What is the State of the Art?," by Stanley Elam, which appeared in the December 1971 issue of "AACTE Bulletin." Performance-based teacher education is a multifaceted concept in search of practioners because it is not a full-fledged movement in the United States. Performance goals are specified and agreed upon in thorough detail in advance of instruction when it comes to performance-based programs. The program has to be systematic and must comply under certain standards.
