Abstract
- The article reports that companies are pitching products very hard to the hip-hop crowd in Canada. Today hip-hop artists and corporate America are practically in collusion to win the hearts, minds and wallets of today's youth. for most of the 1990s and into the new millennium, hordes of suburban kids-both black and white-have followed their inner-city idols in adopting everything from music to clothing to language. The 50 Cent and Jay Z sneaker lines from Reebok were some of their most successful launches ever. Nike began targeting this market using icons of the culture long before it was fashionable.
