Frum discusses the negative perception of marriage among Generation X, and how an extremely high value is placed on independence. Marriage is also affected by the idea that newer is better; this person is great, but maybe there is somebody else out there who might be better. She discusses the normalcy of casual sex among Generation X and its link to multiple choice culture.
