Abstract
- The article focuses on the contribution of scientist Thomas Edison in the discovery of an entire system of electric lighting by inventing the incandescent lamp. He was the first to recognize that electric lighting would require that electricity be generated and distributed at high voltage to subdivide it among many high-resistance burners. Aside from that, he and his associates also designed and built a new type of electric generator.
