Abstract
- The article focuses on the enlargement of the concept of number by building up number systems and by seeking to dissect them into their most primitive elements. Number systems can be divided into several stages including integers, rational numbers and real numbers. Considered as a tool of civilization, numbers would serve as identification tags or telephone numbers.
