The article presents an outlook for the economic and political status in Iraq in 2006-2007. The politics in the country is expected to be unstable throughout the period. Two factors will help the majority of Shia Arabs and the Kurds keep committed to reaching accommodation within the government, including the approval of the constitution. Growth of oil production on a sustainable basis is the major economic goal of the country.
