The article features the antique collections of a medieval scholar and curator in New York City. For the past decade, the collector has been looking for English and American Gothic revival and early modernist objects. His increasing interest in the 19th century coincided with his transfer to an apartment in 1995. This gave him the chance to collect objects and use them as furnishings of his home.
