Abstract

The article discusses the educational concepts in having teaching centers in the U.S. The purpose of having teacher centers is to improve the quality of instruction that takes place in schools and classrooms, although many educators give priority to a greater involvement of teachers in the problems of curriculum and staff development. An independent teaching center is characterized by the absence of any formal affiliation with an established institution. A professional organization teaching center has two kinds, the negotiated teacher association center and the subject area or social studies center.
