Abstract

The article focuses on the faculty development in schools, colleges and departments of education in the U.S. According to the author, the personal needs of the individual faculty in order to grow include: acquiring more knowledge related to adult development and applying them in teaching; developing deeper relationships with other teachers in education; and becoming educated in areas of faculty involvement. The professional needs of the faculty include: understanding of the professional traditions and history; acquiring more links with national and regional individuals and programs; and becoming more potent within the university.
